When customers buy our Persian saffron, it’s naturally dried before packaging and requires moisture to re-hydrate it and draw out it’s full naturally vibrant color. To do this, the Persian saffron threads should soak in hot water, wine, milk, or stock for 15 to 30 minutes.
Afterward, the Persian saffron threads and the water get added to the dish, right before it’s finished cooking. This method also helps distribute the Persian saffron evenly throughout the dish. For dishes that don’t need any added liquid, the highest quality organic saffron should soak in hot water for 15 to 20 minutes and then the zafran gets removed from the liquid and added to the dish.
Another popular method for cooking with Persian saffron includes grinding down the highest quality organic saffron into a powder. To do this, take premium saffron threads and crush them into a fine powder using a mortar and pestle. Since premium Persian threads are naturally dried, they’re easy to crush and takes only a few minutes to make the highest quality organic saffron powder. Once it’s in powder form, the safron gets sprinkled on top of dishes or into drinks until the desired flavor’ s achieved.
